I have no doubt in my mind that any 4 of the rookies would perform well in this offense with Shanahan making things easier for them. As a master playcaller and game planner he would be able to hide the rookies mistakes and lack of playtime as he has done with (Garoppolo, Mullens and CJ). The best QB he has had a chance to work with was Matt Ryan and he ended up being an MVP in year 2. I hope he picks a QB because we all know they would be dominant in the future barring injury.
I noticed Azeez Ojulari was both standing up and playing from the left/Bosa's position. Any evidence that he will transfer to the right/Ford's position and get his hand in the dirt?
Azeez Ojulari aligns as an EDGE defender for the Bulldogs defense. He will align either in a 2-point or 3-point stance and has played on all three downs for their defense. He plays with good reactive athleticism when out on the edge and demonstrates good quickness, effort, and body control. Although he appears to lack ideal length for a traditional 3-4 OLB, he demonstrates very good pop in his hips and hands at the point of attack to set the edge. In the passing game, he gets home with good effort and motor. He needs to improve and refine his overall technique as a pass rusher, but shows flashes of the athleticism that projects him to have success at the next level.
Ideal Role: Off the ball 4-3 OLB.
Scheme Fit: Any defense with hybrid even/odd front principles will have no problems using him as a valuable chess piece.
Good breakdown riqonator. Ya know, you should really make a full blown blog, NN-style (but maybe NOT bring all the Hag trolls).
On the rookies, there is no way we draft Pitts, esp not at 12. Why? Because he doesn’t block. Immediate no-no for Shanny. I really like Ojulari but am concerned about his injury history, and I also saw him lining up on Bosa’s side (left) rather than Ford’s (right) so he would have to switch. I really like Surtain, Farley, and Horn and think they’ll all be great.
Side question: Which QB in this draft to you think is “Shanny’s guy”?
I like Lance but he’s a bit unproven and is a big wild card to be taken at 12. He only had one 300 yard game in 2021 and the rest of his division was pretty horrible.
He’s a wild card in the sense of experience/age. I don’t have questions about his ability though. His short to mid accuracy combined with his arm talent, athleticism, and good fundamentals (quick release and footwork) + working in a pro style offense with pro reads, tasked with protections, etc etc... it all sticks out to me and screams Shanny. He’s not the normal raw QB. His yard total was severely impacted by drops, as well as in general he didn’t throw it as much as spread offenses. But when he did throw it, he really impressed me.

Ryan isn’t on the trade market
Think he means that we need to get Shanahan someone as talented or more as Ryan

I’ve seen him lineup on both sides, that clip just happened to be on that side. Need to look at if he’s been a hand in dirt rusher though.

Yeesh I need to change my name... ninersSB2020 is so old LOL
😢
LOL, I changed my NN name to ninersSB6. I find it leaner and meaner, but I don’t have to change.
I reply on Riqo's behalf - Lance!!

Ah, ok. I haven’t read that article in awhile so I must have forgot. He could be worth it at 12, we’ll see.
