I don't see us in any sort of blockbuster trade scenario. There's 2 games between now and the deadline. Injuries have taken their toll and have a grip on the meat of our schedule. So today, I think we're firmly on hold. The result of the next two games will determine ShanaLynch's appetite for action. We lose the next two, time to focus on 2021. End of story. Makes me sick to even think that way with week 7 still on deck, but here we are.

For sure. I could maaaaybe see a Mack deal, or even someone like Kwon being dealt to say, the Steelers but outside of that you are absolutely right

The Mack trade IMO is far off. Shanny has previously said that he doesn't want us losing any 2021 draft picks whatsoever.

I think the most likely trade would be a Pettis/TeCo + 2022 6th round pick for Kerrigan/Love

Agreed for sure. I don't think Mack will get traded for the same reason that you mentioned - Shanny does not want to get rid of 2021 picks, but I don't see a way in which ATL accepts anything not this year. We will see, but I would personally "love" (see what i did there) the Kerrigan trade.

These are sort of just templates for what maybe could happen if they were to pursue said trade targets.

Another blockbuster trade you may have missed Riqo - Jarvis Landry.

Browns have a lot of salary trapped in their WR1 and WR2 and with them having a strong run game attitude having both is excessive. However, it's not OBJ they want to trade, as he offers them a true elite WR1, its the slot guy who's a bit banged up and taking receptions that most slot WRs could take in his place. His talent is on a leash and they're overpaying for his contribution.

Aiyuk is our OBJ-lite, we have Deebo as a powerful running WR - adding Landry to replace Taylor and Pettis and possibly pushing out Bourne from his role too (Landry is talented enough to play all positions, not sure quite how Shanahan would use him but I suspect he'll confuse the D running the 3 on rotating route trees) and for much less than Julio and OBJ.

Any thoughts on what trade would make sense for Landry?

Landry is definitely interesting but his salary is pretty high as well. Theoretically Kwon, Ward, and a mid pick (a 3rd?) Could get it done, but the 49ers would eat some dead money. Browns would do it because they need LB and S help badly, and Kwon and Ward easily fit the bill there.

I just dont see a move for a non #1 WR.

Shanahan not a #1 type guy. He'll grab an elite (Julio) but his scheme doesn't require a #1, it requires misdirection and talented players. He could stack Deebo, Aiyuk and Landry and no-one would know who is running what route. He's better than Sanders and cheaper than elites - I think he'd be awesome. But yeah, a steep price and I'm only offering him up because you posted some blockbusters. I think we see Browns deal Landry to someone by end of next week...

I agree with Riqo we likely wouldn't, but I do love Landry for the Niners as far as being a fit, both on and off the field. I love his game. Always have.

Good write-up Riqo, as always. Nice projected trades but I'm afraid that ship has sailed. We are not in a position to pull off any of the suggested trades, as our offering value (Picks or Players) are not going to move the needle

We don't require WRs but we do require Edge Rushers. Except Kerrigan there are not many players out there. And even Kerrigan costs us a lot, which we cannot afford

Oh Riqo, Kerrigan does not 'expire' (LMAO!) at the end of the season!!! I presume you meant his contract expires at the end of the season. Anyway, that's a double-no for us. One more rental player whom we cannot sign next year? Nyet!!

Sorry thats my NBA speak leaking into this hehe

Yeah - would be rough as a rental. But for a 5th/6th rounder I dont think JL would sweat it. You are right though - this move would be only in case of the 49ers rapidly going into win this season mode

“But that does not mean that John Lynch should press the trigger.” - you must be a shooter or have experience shooting to know the proper action word for this idiom is “press” not “pull.”

Nope 😄

welp... excellent word choice! The proper way to engage the trigger is with a "press," not a "pull."

How about a small trade to get Gore back on the Niners so he doesn't have to work in that pit of despair!
