I'm not seeing Gurley or, as much as I'd love it, Gore at all. Anyone else we add at RB has to play special teams or they're limiting the roster more than helping it.

Not gonna lie though. Seeing 21 score another TD in Red & Gold would be a beautiful thing!

Gurley would only come here on cheap. But we know that Shanahan has used the three-pronged RB attack before. Gurley could also play ST.. dont know about Gore at his age.

I've got to say, you are a really talented writer Riqonator. Good read. Excited for Alex Mack!

I would LOVE to see both Mack and Gore here. If we do get Mack, then we should probably draft Lance at 12, and EDGE/CB BPA for Rounds 2 and 3, with Mack’s grooming replacement to come in Round 4.

There is no time for caution, about the QB position. A factor we don't know, but FO must know, is the real Jimmy's health state. How much of the 2017 Jimmy is the actual Jimmy ? He was 80% in 2019, is he better now after the ankle sprain or worse ? Fully recovered for the ankle and improved about the knee or there are the same concerns or more ? This is the key for the decision. If there is not a clear positive answer it would be time for select a QB in the draft and cut Jimmy, saving the cap space for FA. Maybe we could add a veteran QB with a one year deal, but i doesn't change a lot. We could be REAL contenders only if Jimmy, Ford, Richburg, Blair, Bosa are ALL full healthy, which is a HUGE assumption. So there is no long term value in a solution where we could be PO boundary with the same exactly questions next year. If Jimmy is 90% OK, otherwise a different route is not only possible, it is necessary. One more year at 5-7 wins would be a reasonable price for a long term solution, building the team around some key players, a very good OL and a not expensive QB for 4-5 years. It is just an opinion, off course.

This, exactly; though Kyle’s shown he can win with a QB new to the system (Jimmy 17’). Any of the top 4 rookies, is more talented, and offer a dynamic element to the office (hoping for Lance).

The secrecy of this FO, does make for an agonizing offseason; makes for great slack threads. Great work Sir.

What about Fields at QB?

He seems out of the picture no? I doubt he even drops past the Jets

I think Mack is one of the most likely free agents. If we get outbid for Trent Williams I fully expect Mack to be Plan B.

What about Tua if Watson does get traded to Miami? Had a decent rookie season and seems like a system fit for KS. 6-3 record as a starter. Great short accuracy. Protects the football: 5/9 games with zero turnovers and only 1 game with multiple turnovers. Good mobility but not a "running QB." That's a guy I'd be very interested in.

Although I guess I should stipulate that Watson is going nowhere. He's still under contract for 4 more years. He has zero real leverage to force his way out. The only thing he's got is the empty threat to hold out and pay the team back $50k per day that he doesn't report, plus at some point $22M worth of signing bonus. Or the empty threat to basically tank his own career.
