Hi, thanks as usual for the article, I don't think there is really much hidden messages, they saw the opportunity to grab a QB with the right potential to be elite and after handling FA in a very good way they made the decision. We said since January there was no time for caution, and I think they handled the process very very well. Of course the final outcome will depend by the QB selection. And obviously this is the first question : I think it will be Lance or Fields if Wilson is gone. I don't have the knowledge to say who would be better, but I hope to read some from you here or on Slack. I was very impressed by Fields in the Clemson game, but I can't see much College Football so I can't say more. The second question would be one more year with Jimmy or not. I thought was very difficult keep TW and JG, but after FA I would prefer keep Jimmy for a last run. We could save 26 mil trading/releasing him, but we would need a veteran and it would cost 7-8 mil and time for the playbook. It is worth for an offer we can't refuse, not for a late 3 or 4. Someone is worried if JimmyG become the new Tom Brady and we win the SB, I would like so much if we have this problem ! What is your opinion Riqo about keeping JG or not ? A last question, what if one of the TWO top QB prospect would refuse to sign with Jags or Jets ? I know there is money difference between 1, 2 and 3, but for a young QB it could be more attractive a Shanahan system than bad organizations like Jags or Jets. It happened with Ely Manning if I well remember, but I know it is very unusual and absolutely unlikely.
I think one of the things this session highlighted is that ShanaLynch very well understand the subtleties of running a football team. Since at #3 they believe no matter what they'll be able to get a franchise guy, but they're not done evaluating, that means until draft day we're really not gonna know how things will shake up. But anyone who's claiming that Garoppolo's finished probably wasn't reading this that closely. They moved up to put themselves in a position where they could take advantage of any opportunity. If Garoppolo plays like an easy top 10 this season, now they have a good problem. If Garoppolo gets hurt or starts slipping, they've got an actual plan in line to win now and in the future. And if our pick lights it up from Day 1, he can do it without the pressure of needing to put a franchise on his back like many other highly-rated QB picks have. Plus, if a good deal (likely a first-rounder, or a Day 2 pick in the latter situation) comes their way, we can swap Jimmy G for an impact player in the draft. That said, I'd bet they would've restructured his contract to make room for even more FA pickups if they were planning to trade Jimmy no matter what. So they really are trying to have the best of both worlds, and so far ShanaLynch have shown the boldness and character to get it.
Plus, if they fall in love with Mac Jones over anyone else, they could always trade back down. A more difficult prospect to maneuver back down with an eye on a specific guy, but they'd absolutely have suitors for #3 and can try for it if they see the opportunity. Personally, I think it'd be hilarious if it turns out Davis Mills is Prescott/Wilson of this draft, we moved back down to around #8-10 to recoup a ton of draft value and still grab Pitts, then grab Mills in the second round. That's way too cute to actually happen, but it goes to show just how many opportunities ShanaLynch have set up with this move.
KS: "Well, yeah, one, we have people at all the spots. A lot of people we trust and will be able to meet with here over the next month.”
“I think ultimately the decision we made was, we were very comfortable with this group of players at the top of this draft.”
"I'll say just, it's a risk every single year you go into an NFL season without one of those top five guys. It's very tough to win in this league and there's only a few quarterbacks that you're going to win because of just the quarterback.”
“When you do get back with people you really love being around, guys you like working for, and I know free agency was tough on a lot of those guys, not just our own team, but around the whole league and being able to connect with those guys when it was all said and done and to see how hard like the week had been for them and stuff, but to also know that they were genuinely excited to be back, I can tell you the same way I feel, the same way my family feels, the same way everyone in this team feels because we do feel close like players say.”
"I'm sure Jimmy was a little pissed off from it, just like I would be, too, but me knowing Jimmy, he'll be fired up and come in and he'll work his butt off. Knowing Jimmy, the more mad Jimmy gets, usually the better he gets. So, if Jimmy just gets madder and he stays healthy, I mean, this is going to be a good thing for Jimmy, too, which could be a great problem for the 49ers.“
So thankful for these guys. They’ve done this franchise good.
I hope this lights a fire under Jimmy’s butt this year.
Can we find a video of Trevor Lawrence wearing a gas mask and smoking pot, then he’ll fall to #3 and we can draft him? If nothing exists get a look alike, or CGI and spend the money for the effects to make it look like Lawrence is a bad seed; and release it hours before the draft. 🕺👍😁

Big quotes to me:
