I hope so. Deebo and Aiyuk need to be big time for it though. Wouldnt hurt if Taylor regained his old for either.

Reagor, Shepard on IR will be a boon with Sherm out. Wonder if we see Tua when we play Miami - would be interesting for sure.

has Fitz played that bad? I doubt they will play Tua with his injuries.

He's played OK but in general, teams never wait to play their QB - Tua will play.

Yeah, I wouldn't say we're completely DOOMED. We went from being THE Super Bowl favorite in the NFC to being a Wild Card hopeful with a long shot at the SB. Crazy things happen in the playoffs. If we can get in, who knows.

Agree - 14 weeks left and a bye week as well. There is plenty of time to adjust the gameplan, give some players more opportunity and vice versa, sign and trade for people - this thing is far from over. But i said in my comment above that this team must now shift from a defense-oriented team to offense, which I don't know is possible. I hope.

If we get to the playoffs in any way shape or form, like you said, it's a whole new game.

Respectfully. You're underestimating what's left of our Defense, particularly if Ford makes it back and through. Not saying I'd bet on it, but I'm not ready to bet against it either.

Ford might as well be on IR. I'm not counting on anything from him this season. If you want a glimmer of hope, we've added/worked out a few pass rushers who have had great seasons before. More of a chance that those guys recapture former glory than there is that Ford stays healthy.

I agree. But our offense is going to have to be much better than our defense at this point - both our EDGE rushers are likely not playing another snap... i have zero hopes in Ford

I hope Jimmy shows some of that old swagger. We cannot afford an injury on the offense. I'm anxious to get out of Metlife before someone else is hurt

i'm a debbie downer. Toughest division in football and the Cardinals and Seahawks are both going to be good. We are doomed.

I must admit I am as well - but my overreaction to tank for Trevor was a bit much 😭

Big fan here of staying positive and not overreacting. And the best part is, whether we as fans choose that path or not, it's good to know our Niners will. I imagine they're pumped for the challenge of getting a win this week with our second team and flexing our deep roster. I'd hate to be a Giants player this week. They're about to face a focused and violent team looking to make someone pay for their fallen brothers. And who better the "bitch smack" than one of the teams associated with that crap turf we need to navigate for another week (o god please be kind to us).

As the season goes on a lot will change. Regression suggests that teams looking like world beaters right now will hit bumpy stretches, and we should have calmer waters ahead.

Anyone enjoy Cynthia Frelund's stuff? Please do interpret "stuff" however you like, because I honestly did mean it two ways. Anywhoo....... her model (no, that I only meant one way, you perverted sicko's!!) has all 4 NFCW teams making the playoffs. Seriously, how cool would that be? Especially if we're the ones that emerge still standing.

We're 18-1 until we're not. GO NINERS!!

its unlikely but very possible with how bad the rest of the NFC is - only problem/thing standing in the way: Tompa Bay or New Orleans.

A lot will change as the season grinds forward. I can see the following teams that are looking bad right now getting into contention later:

Falcons - They're barely losing and scoring like crazy. If they get their D together to any level of decent, they'll be a tough out. See last years finish at 6-2

Eagles - They really just need to get healthy and have a few guys develop. They're very well coached and always hanging around at the end

One of the Vikings and Lions - They're both playing surprisingly bad. Lions in particular are getting leads and then blowing them, largely on horrible game management, which can be corrected fairly easily. Time for a new OC? And the Vikings aren't this bad, or poorly coached. They're puzzling!

We’re not totally out of the running...but our chances did take a huge hit; Aiyuk played against the Jets & Deebo will also be back eventually...I just hope we can last long enough for Jimmy to return...

I'm reminded of my favorite Blackadder quote: "My path is strewn with Cow pats from the Devil's own Satanic Herd". Still, this team is very good at overcoming adversity (they have had a lot of practice at it) and made it to the Superb-Owl, despite a lot of setbacks last season. I wouldn't call the next 3 games gimmes: Miami look surprisingly strong with Old man Fitzmagic at the helm and you can never overlook Wentz, even if Philly appear to be locked into a downward spiral these days. If we come out of this stretch 4-1 then I think we will be in pretty good shape for the rest of the season.
