The 49ers already have a Week 1 ready defense, one that is poised to play even better than last season with the return of Nick Bosa. But there are some needs remaining.
I like to play both sides of the ball, so to speak.
On the one hand, I’m logical and want to trade back and draft high quality depth pieces for future roster planning.
On the other, I want the exciting and sexy trade up package for the QBOTF.
In the end, I’m more of a logic guy, but the exciting aggressive move has its appeal. That’s probably off-season boredom speaking. On draft night, I want logic.
I like the idea of moving Ward back to the slot, but we’ve moved him around so much that idk how great of an idea that is. I’m looking forward to seeing Kerr on the field (that is a BIG man!!!)
This D is gonna be solid this year. Hopefully 2019-esque but with a better approach at stopping mobile QBs.
As for drafting CB, I really like Obi’s brother CB Ifeatu Melifonwu. He’s a big body (6-3, 214) CB that also I’m has pretty good speed for his size (4.48 40). I like him off a trade back to the late 2nd or early 3rd.
Great article as always, we are in a prime spot to grab a qbotf with our current roster and drafting spot. I think we are definitely a playoff team as we stand. If we get improve play at and good health luck, this team is a sb contender. Mack gonna have a big impact at C and keeping the OL working as a unit. At DE, ebukom could really flourish if his tech improves. Bosa will be the main attraction on the DL, so samson should see alot of 1 on 1.
Best plan of attack for us should be QB in rd 1, OT in rd 2 and CB in rd 3.
(check my last paragraph of this article) - there's a reason i did my Lance and Wilson reports early. I was expecting this, the analytics seemed to be too much to ignore with regards to Garoppolo. but still, wow. excited for sure.

Logic in this scenario might even be the exciting move up... fun times.

Kerr was easily my favorite signing. I think he's the Hyder/Verrett/K'Waun type of value signing that has become the signature of this FO
Yep, all I hope is that he scores a big man TD this year.
2019 - Buckner big man TD
2020 - Kinlaw big man TD
2021 - Kerr big man TD

Agreed. I’d look forward an OT that could play guard to start off
Trade up to 3 blew my mind
