BREAKING: Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas out for the season with ACL tears. Jimmy Garoppolo out for multiple weeks with high ankle sprain.
Brutal. 49ers - 31. Jets - 13. A win, but at a steep cost.
The 49ers blowout the Jets in a game that was boring from the get-go - starting off with a 80 yard TD on the first play from scrimmage, courtesy of Raheem Mostert. That was accompanied by a bounce back game from Jimmy Garoppolo, who played through an injury in the 1st half, and played well - Garoppolo threw 131 yards and 2 TDs in just 1 half, for a passer rating of 140.4: granted, it was against the Jets, maybe the worst team in the league, but still, good to see Garoppolo getting back into rhythm.
Unfortunately, there were plenty of negatives accompanying the positives - in this case, injuries. A nightmare scenario has come to life, as Nick Bosa may be out for the season with what looks to be a torn ACL. On the next play, Solomon Thomas also had his knee taken out and also likely has torn his ACL as well.
A brutal sequence. This happens to be Nick Bosa’s second torn ACL if confirmed, with his first coming on his right knee - this was on the left knee. Brutal. Thomas’ injury was on his right knee. Thomas hits free agency after this season, meaning his career with the 49ers is likely over - a devastating turn of events. Kyle Shanahan confirmed fears in his post game presser:
Update: Solomon Thomas has a chance for not having an ACL injury. Unclear on what else it may be, but if I had to guess, meniscus.

Raheem Mostert also exited the game at halftime with a knee injury, and did not return - but he looked to be OK. Precautionary. Jimmy Garoppolo also injured his ankle and was hobbling for most of the 1st half, before exiting for x-rays at halftime. Let’s pray that injury is not serious either.

Update: Garoppolo has a high ankle sprain, he will be out for 4-6 weeks. Brutal.

This was a terrible day for injuries:

The injures pile up for the 49ers:
George Kittle
Richard Sherman
Deebo Samuel
Jimmy Garoppolo
Nick Bosa
Dre Greenlaw
Solomon Thomas
Jullian Taylor
Weston Richburg
Richie James Jr
I mean - this isn’t even funny. This is just sad to see. The 49ers have to play on the same cursed turf next Sunday, so do not expect many star players to play.
Absolutely brutal win - which is hard to swallow. The bright spots:
Jordan Reed caught 2 TDs and looked like the best pass-catcher on the field. When Kittle gets back that should be fun.
Raheem Mostert and Jerick McKinnon were dominant as runners.
More updates on Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas as they come in. Thoughts can be summarized by this.
How the actual fuck does the NFL, a multi-billion dollar corporation, run such a jackass operation that just ruins its most valuable assets? Not only can they not provide a safe playing surface—they fucking approved this surface for how many games a year?! When Mahomes does his acl on it, then they’ll do something. But by then ALL the best players, who play at the highest levels, at the very physical limits their bodies can take, will have knees and ankle injuries keeping them out of the game and leading to a shittier product.
The NFL is just run by a collective of Moronic Fucking Fucks.
I’m so upset right now, losing Bosa and Jimmy will hurt this team. Ford is a liability and cannot be counted on to step up, so our pass rush is gone. Jimmy was just starting to look like the guy we counted on in the past, hopefully he’s not out long, but high ankle sprains take months to properly heal; when I played ball it took him two months to get comfortable just to start running again; man I hope Jimmy is a fast healer.
